Golden age bouquet in oils
Be inspired by 17th century flower painters – channel the Flemish Masters!
Explore the style, Learn the techniques.
Together we will paint a floral still life.
We will draw our flowers in charcoal and chalk to study their structure.
Then explore the composition for the painting.
Next is under painting in shades of grey followed by glorious glazes to bring the piece to life.
Materials Required – students of this class access 10% discount
Oil paint and mediumf
Flake white (cremitz white, lead white)
Yellow Gamboge extra (old holland) or Indian Yellow
Transparent red oxide
Fast drying gel medium – Gamblin Solvent Free Gel
20 x 24 inch wright and co polly cotton, or an extra smooth gessoed surface of equivalent size.
A range of oil painting sable brushes or equivalent synthetic. 1cm wide to 0

A $50 deposit is required to secure your place in this small class,
the remainder is payable on arrival for the class.

We have instituted Covid Safe business practices, being:
– QR code check in on arrival at the store or studio
– Keeping classes small to ensure that there is a 2 metre square space allocation per student;
– Providing hand sanitiser;
– Washing down tables between each class;
– Encouraging students to bring their own water bottles and coffee mugs;
(Tea and coffee making facilities are provided).
– Regular sanitising of surfaces.
