Workshop Description
This workshop is about exploration and expression without the pressure of trying to create something for anyone but yourself.
Break away from brushes and use your palette knife for more than just mixing paint.
Join award-winning artist Catherine Fitz-Gerald in a small class, that includes demos,
individual support, and plenty of time to paint.
Have fun with friends and enjoy this 1/2 day workshop 11am to 3.30pm with
heartwarming homemade soup and crusty bread, tea and coffee provided for lunch.
We will create a painting in oils on aluminium and discuss how to use the
same techniques on other surfaces. It’s a place to explore and develop ideas.
Bring your own landscape image or springboard off one of mine.
Learn to use texture to create alla prima art that is expressive and personal.
Suitable for adults with varying degrees of art experience,
from a beginner to an experienced artist wanting to try something new.

About Cate Fitz-Gerald:
“Catherine Fitz-Gerald is a multidisciplinary, South Australian artist recognised for her masterful skills in handling light and luminous colour.
Her practice uses traditional oil painting, abstractions, installation photography and digital storytelling.
Catherine has also independently published three limited-edition art books as outcomes of residencies or exhibitions.
Her work develops in a series of extended investigations, exploring the common threads that bind us as people and communities.
